今回は動詞とコロケーションに注目しました。


jeopardize : 危険にさらす、危うくする

An aging population could jeopardize China's economic ascent.


breed:産む

The controls bred intense resentment over the brutal intrusions involved, including forced abortions and crippling fines, especially in the countryside.


peter out:先細りして衰える、弱まる

But that expansion (in work-age population) is petering out, and more people are living longer, leaving a greater burden on a shrinking workforce.


relax:=loosen, ease 緩和する

The part decision to relax the restriction on family size will not take effect immediately.


replenish:補充する、補給する

A burst of children will replenish the nation's workforce and encourage more consumer spending.


exempt:除外する

The government also exempeted ethnic minorities.
